We at Odradek Records are convinced that only the presence of an active public can render our art truly alive. For this reason, along with producing CDs, we organize itinerate music festivals, acknowledging that the truest fruition of music is to be had in the concert hall. One often hears of the crisis of classical music, of continuing decline in audience numbers. We believe that classical music can still have not only an affectionate audience, but also potentially a completely new public, that is waiting to be invited to hear in a different and more informal way.
Our festivals move from city to city, in Italy and abroad, since we want our artists to travel to meet their public. Our concerts take place in small halls, with acoustics perfectly adapt for soloists and chamber ensembles and where the dimensions allow the public to hear music being made from close up. The halls are located in strategic parts of the cities, central and with easy access, and when possible taking account of the local architectural and artistic heritage.
Our programs set themselves apart by featuring great works that are rarely performed and original themed programing. In our concerts, as for our discs, when associated expenses are recovered all profits go to the artists. At the end of the concerts, it is possible to buy the artist’s CD, and the artists greet their public in person, responding to questions, comments, and critiques, exchanging ideas about music and art.
The inaugural edition of Project Odradek’s music festivals will take place in Italy: in the first three weeks of July six concert pianists will tour, passing through Rome, from Cagliari to Pescara, Florence, and finally Trieste – thirty concerts in all, spanning from sea to sea, from the Tyrrhenian to the Adriatic.
The diverse background of the musicians, Italian, Japonese, American, Malesian, Russian, testifies to the international vocation of Project Odradek; their ages, between thirty and forty, speaks to the desire to favor artists relatively young but already professionally mature; organizing concerts in places of great cultural interest speaks to our desire to contribute to the value of the local cultural heritage.
The variety in programming is designed to integrate the traditional pianistic repertoire with newer and even cutting edge proposals: ranging from the classicism and romanticism of Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt and Schumann, to the first and second halves of the 20th century, with Schönberg, Prokof’ev, Bartók, and Carter, all the way up to the very contemporary, with the studies of Unsuk Chin.

Noi di Odradek Records siamo convinti che solo la presenza di un pubblico attivo possa rendere l’arte davvero viva. Per questo affianchiamo alla produzione di CD l’organizzazione di festival itineranti, perché crediamo la più vera fruizione della musica continui ad avvenire nei concerti. Si parla spesso, a proposito di crisi della musica classica, della continua diminuzione del pubblico ai concerti. Noi crediamo che la musica classica abbia non solo ancora un pubblico di affezionati, ma anche tutto un nuovo potenziale pubblico, che attende di essere invitato all’ascolto in modo diverso e più informale.
I nostri festival si muovono di città in città, in Italia e all’estero, perché vogliamo che i nostri artisti viaggino per incontrare il loro pubblico. I nostri concerti si svolgono in sale piccole, la cui acustica si adatta perfettamente a strumenti solisti o a complessi da camera e le cui dimensioni consentono al pubblico di sentire musica e musicisti vicini. Le sale sono collocate in luoghi strategici delle città, che coniughino centralità, facile accesso e valorizzazione del patrimonio architettonico e artistico locale.
I nostri programmi si contraddistinguono per la presenza di grandi opere raramente eseguite e di originali percorsi tematici. Nei nostri concerti, così come accade per i nostri dischi, una volta coperte le spese di produzione tutti i proventi vanno all’artista. Alla fine del concerto è possibile acquistare CD degli artisti, mentre questi chiacchierano con il loro pubblico: rispondono a domande, commenti e critiche, scambiano idee sulla musica e sull’arte.
L’edizione inaugurale dei Festival Musicali Progetto Odradek si svolge in Italia: nelle prime tre settimane di luglio sei concerti pianistici si muoveranno, passando per Roma, da Cagliari, a Pescara, Firenze, e Trieste – trenta concerti, quindi, che vanno dal mare al mare, dal Tirreno all’Adriatico.
La diversa provenienza dei musicisti, Italia, Giappone, Stati Uniti, Malesia, Russia, testimonia la vocazione internazionale di Progetto Odradek; la loro età, compresa tra i trenta e i quaranta anni, il desiderio di favorire artisti relativamente giovani ma già professionalmente maturi; la collocazione dei concerti in luoghi di interesse culturale la volontà di contribuire alla valorizzazione del patrimonio artistico locale.
La varietà programmi mira a integrare il repertorio tradizionale pianistico con nuove e nuovissime proposte: si va dal classicismo e romanticismo di Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, Schumann, al primo e secondo Novecento di Schönberg, Prokof’ev, Bartók, Carter, alla contemporaneità, con gli studi di Unsuk Chin.

我々オドラデック・レコーズでは、世の中での実際に行っている活動の存在こそが私たちのアートを本当の意味で活性化すると確信しています。このため、CDを生産する一方で、巡回するミュージック・フェスティバルも開催しております。音楽の本当の意味での実現はホールでの生演奏にあると認識しているからです。聴き手が減ってきたことで、クラシック音楽の危機を耳にすることもあるでしょう。しかし私たちは、クラシック音楽は愛好家だけのものではなく、もしかすると全く新しい聴き手を得られるかもしれないと信じています。それは、従来とは違ったよりカジュアルな形で音楽を聴くこと招かれるのを待っている聴き手の層なのかもしれません。
オドラデック・フェスティバルはイタリア国内外のあちこちを転々と巡回します。アーティストたちにそれぞれの地域のお客さんと触れ合っていただきたいからです。演奏会は、音響がソリストや室内楽に最適で、すぐ目の前から流れ出す音楽に聴き手が近づけるよう、小さなホールで開催されます。ホールはまちの中心の便利でアクセスのよい場所に位置し、可能であれば現地の建築や芸術的遺産のある場所を考慮します。
プログラムには、演奏頻度の高い一般的によく知られた作品を取り込むことはあえて避け、演奏されることのあまりない作品や何かテーマを従えたプログラムを心がけています。オドラデック・フェスティバルの演奏会では、ディスク販売のためにも、演奏会の関連費用が回復すれば、それ以上の収益は全てアーティストにお渡ししています。演奏終了後にはCD販売も可能ですし、お客さんへのごあいさつ、お客さんとの意見交換なども可能です。
